United States International University Africa, also known as USIU Africa, is a private university in Kenya.

The university is accredited by the Commission for Higher Education in Kenya and by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

United States International University-Africa, situated in Nairobi, Kenya is the oldest private secular university in Eastern Africa. Students at USIU-Africa receive a high quality, broad-based international education that prepares them for global success.

Dual Accreditation in Kenya and United States by the Commission for University Education (Kenya) and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (USA) means students can transfer credits to any accredited university in the US – home to some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

USIU-Africa currently offers 25 programs at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. They range from Business to Psychology to Information Technology to International Affairs to Tourism.

USIU had the KBX Series Telephony System that was limited to analogue telephony. USIU is a big University with many schools, offices and hostels. 

byIt needed a telephony system that could provide analogue, digital and IP Services. They wanted an updated telephony system with a bigger capacity, a system that was user friendly and could operate within all its schools, offices and hostels. 
  The University similarly needed a modern system that could provide them with emerging trends.  The KBX restricted USIU to a few services;

1. Receiving and making internal calls.
2. Making external calls using telephone service providers.

We provided USIU the SOPHO iS3050 Series that is designed to cover the communication needs of small to very large organizations.

The SOPHO iS3050 architecture provides a combination of IP telephony and traditional solutions, resulting in a hybrid system that incorporates the best of both IP packet switching and traditional TDM technology. 

This series of ISPBX systems comprises five models which have been optimized and can be linked together to form one large distributed ISPBX with up to 65,000 extensions thus solving their need for a bigger capacity system.

The SOPHO-IS 3050 model operates using fault-tolerant architecture, which is capable of tolerating a card and/or link failure without any loss of system continuity.

SOPHO IS 3000 PABX has been upgraded to IPPBX status which was done systematically overtime. All analogue and digital extensions were slowly phased out and the system is now fully IP based. The System is still backward compatible which proves our capability to satisfy client needs. The results of the solution provided (SOPHO-IS 3050) is as shown below;

1. It provided modular architecture for flexible and expandable system configuration that facilitates step-by-step migration to a converged voice/data environment.
2. In-System IP gateway for IP trunks and IP extensions was the main benefit to the client as it satiated their need for expansion.
3. Open communication standards that enable the integration of external applications like VOIP Services and ISDN Lines.
4. Very high system availability that offers local or remote management.
5. Fast loading and restart times as well as no forced cooling.
6. Economic power consumption and is suitable for high levels of communication traffic and multifunctional applications.
